Pretty Little Girl

If anybody asks you why I'm over here doing what I'm doing, tell them this is why. She deserves a future, too.

It's so true. I'm glad that there are those that are courageous enough to take up the fight. It's something for which you can always hold your head high.

Just for some background. We were on foot patrol through the bazaar in Chamkani when I saw her. This is downtown, right outside our front gate. It's a very busy scene. The girls here are dressed very ornately while the men are rather plain. Once she gets to be a teenager, you won't see her face again until she's a grandmother. She'll cover it with a scarf or a burqa. We call them "the blue ghosts".

This is a charming little girl. Hopefully with all that the military is doing some changes will occur for the female population there. I am so very appreciative of all you military guys. Stay safe Jeff.
